House for a Philosopher
An exercise of freedom, this house tries to break out from itself: it is a living room, it is a private library, it is a meditation space. These three conceptual elements appear in every corner of the house, but they determine the main areas. The house is flat and has a big platform on it. The library develops different forms around walls, windows, in every corner; the space is inhabited by hundreds of thousands of books. The meditation room is a vertical, inner space, it crosses the gravitational centre. The eclecticism of the design is not casual: the forms appear scattered in space, each part of the house tries to influence the other. But finally they reach a particular order; the plan shows a balance between an orthodox geometry and a tensioned design, expressing quietness.   EN   ES
